Fatstep is a label that’s never confined itself to one single genre. Bass house, drum & bass, future bass, downtempo, lofi - since 2017, our releases all share one thing: they make us feel alive.

How it all started

Simon and his friends had tracks ready but wanted to stay independent, so the decision was clear: in May 2017, they launched their own label.

The first release was Kard, an EP from Darkkick and Croozader - four tracks that set the tone, blending Simon’s funky electro with Christophe’s future bass. Nine years on, Fatstep has grown into a family, managing the catalog for other labels within the network. It remains small and hands-on, with projects rolling out naturally. Our independence remains at the core.

The sound

We don’t have a single reference-our identity is underground, and we own it. In the early days, Fatstep explored all directions - from bass house to lofi, from drum & bass to future bass.

Since our sister labels came into the picture and each found their own space, Fatstep now mainly focuses on bass music that revisits our original intentions. The rule is simple: we release what we love, no matter what.

The roster

Toutant started here before launching his own label (Distor - more on that soon). Hipp⌀ & the Jacket, Darkkick, Mah9, and others have shaped our catalog over time. The roster evolves, but the core idea stays the same: giving a platform to artists who have something to say.

Eyes On - Faux Chaux (November 9, 2017). One of our very first releases - these guys know their craft.

Rebirth - Toutant (September 21, 2018). Downtempo electro that marked our first track to cross a million streams.

Gun Love (Flymeon Remix) - Hipp⌀ & the Jacket (April 30, 2021). A remix that hits hard and makes an impact.

What's coming next

Fatstep keeps releasing the original tracks we’re offered, signing artists we want to support, and staying flexible - not boxed in.
