Distor - dark electro, created by Toutant

Distor embodies the heavier, darker edge of the scene. Raw, uncompromising beats, deep basslines that resonate in the chest - this is the label for tracks that hit hard and don’t hold back.
How it all began
Toutant was the driving force behind Distor’s inception in December 2019 with his track Within - a debut that perfectly captures the vibe. Because Toutant isn’t just an artist releasing on Distor; he’s the very soul of the project. The label started as an artistic collaboration with him: he handles A&R and overall artistic direction, while Simon takes care of everything else. Surrounded by a circle of producers sharing this dark wavelength, low electro sounds, and a desire to push their universe forward, the foundation was laid. Together, they built the label with Toutant steering the ship.
The sound
Dark electro. Raw, no-frills beats. Basses that hit you deep. Distor’s tracks are meant to be felt, not just played in the background. A weighty, tense atmosphere runs through the discography, held together by Toutant’s expert ear, maintaining cohesion without ever sounding repetitive.
The lineup
Toutant, MAH9, Noizinski, Matteo Tura - among others - are key figures shaping Distor’s signature sound. A tight-knit family, with every new artist joining because they align with this distinct universe.
Hippo & the Jacket started releasing on Distor before crossing over to Fatstep - the labels in the network aren’t siloed; artists circulate as they evolve musically.
Some tracks to get a feel
Simulation - Zahia (June 18, 2021). Instantly captures Distor’s vibe from the first note.
Rewrite - Sldwn (November 24, 2023). Showcases the more aggressive, darker side of the catalog.
Chain - MAH9 (July 11, 2025). An aesthetic that will drive you crazy.
Dust & Fire - Hippo & the Jacket. Picked up in 2025 for CSI: Vegas (Paramount, season 3, episode 9). Not the kind of placement you’d expect for a track this intense.
The future
Many tracks are in the works, with a clear plan: to deepen this vibe that sparked the label’s creation rather than dilute it.
